CONSULTING | EDUCATION | KEYNOTES
WE ARE CONSULTING IS An award-winning PROVIDER OF GENDER EQUITY AND RESPECTFUL RELATIONSHIPS CONSULTING.
We support organisations across corporate, government, and education sectors to prevent harm through gender strategy, sexual harassment prevention, youth engagement, and evidence-based respectful relationships education.
Our Approach
At We Are Consulting, our business model is simple: evidence-based, trauma-informed, bespoke, and no BS.
We don’t deal in fluff or corporate jargon. Everything we deliver - from strategic advice to frontline education - is grounded in current research, co-designed with those it impacts, and tailored to the unique needs of each organisation.
We believe real change requires more than a checkbox, it requires honesty, leadership accountability, and the courage to have uncomfortable conversations. Our work is direct, practical, and designed to shift behaviour.
Whether we're working with executives, FIFO teams, educators, or young people - we bring nuance, care, and clarity to some of the most difficult but necessary conversations.
WHO ARE WE
The duo behind the movement. The minds shaping culture. The voices calling BS on outdated systems.
We Are Kate Raston and Nicolette Beard - health promotion specialists, a qualified sexologist and educator, and the co-founders of We Are. We Are consultants and educators shifting culture through evidence-based education, strategy, and media that empowers people to think differently about sex, consent, respect, gender and relationships.
We are also the co-founders and executive directors of the nationally recognised charity We Are W/M, a movement creating systemic change in gender equity and respectful relationships education for young people.
We first met through our work in health promotion and quickly bonded over the same frustration: the way conversations about sex, consent and gender are either swept under the rug or delivered with shame and outdated language. So we built something better - something bold, inclusive and unapologetically honest.
-
We are here to challenge the status quo and spark culture-shifting conversations that make impact. Whether we’re speaking to FIFO workers, consulting with executives, educating young people, or training teachers, we make the hard stuff human, and the awkward stuff empowering.
Our work is trauma-informed, inclusive, and grounded in evidence. No shame. No awkward diagrams. No outdated scripts.
-
Together, we’ve clocked over 16 years of experience and worked with over 22,000 people across Australia.
Our work spans consulting, education, and media, and we’ve led culture-change initiatives across industries including mining, construction, FIFO, hospitality, sport, and education.

At the heart of our work is one powerful belief: that education is a tool for preventio and change. We don’t lecture. We create space. We challenge norms. We show up where it matters - especially in male-dominated and high-risk industries where these conversations are long overdue.
Our work is grounded in:
Evidence-based
Harm minimisation
Human rights
Peer-to-peer learning
Sex positivity
Cooperative, honest conversations
We’re not just here to shift perspectives. We’re here to reshape culture.
