Parent & Caregiver Workshops
Evidence-based, trauma-informed sessions that give parents and caregivers the tools, language, and confidence to have the conversations that matter.
ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
The conversations your kids need you to be ready for.
Young people are navigating consent, relationships, online influence, and sexual health - often well before the adults in their lives are equipped to talk about it.
Our parent and caregiver workshop bridges that gap. Designed and delivered by Kate Raston and Nicolette Beard, this session gives caregivers a grounded, non-judgemental space to build practical knowledge and real communication skills.
We don't lecture. We create space. And we make sure every person in the room leaves better equipped than when they arrived.
KEY OUTCOMES
For parents and caregivers who want to show up for their young people - not just set rules, but build trust and open communication that actually lasts.
Understand what young people are actually being exposed to - and why it matters
Build a clear, practical understanding of consent and how to talk about it at home
Recognise common myths and what young people genuinely want their parents to know
Develop the language and confidence to start and continue these conversations
Learn a harm minimisation approach that goes beyond "just say no"
Leave with real strategies to keep the door open as your child grows
FIFO FAMILIES
Parenting from a distance is its own challenge.
If you're a FIFO parent, you already know that the roster doesn't stop for hard conversations. You're managing guilt, distance, and the pressure to make every home stretch count - all while your kids are growing up fast in between.
The reality is that young people whose parents work away are navigating the same world as everyone else: online influence, relationships, consent, peer pressure, and an algorithm that doesn't care about your swing. The difference is that the window to have these conversations is shorter, and the stakes of missing them feel higher.
Our workshops are built with FIFO families in mind. We give you the frameworks, the language, and the confidence to have meaningful conversations - whether you're home for two weeks or catching up over a phone call from site. You don't need to be there every day to be the adult your child turns to. You just need to know what to say when you are.
For parents who want to show up fully - even when the roster makes that complicated.

Build trust and openness during home stretches that carries through when you're away
Know what your child is likely being exposed to - and how to address it without making it a big deal
Leave with practical tools that work in short windows, not just long sit-down talks
